eB16 - Open File in embedded mode

Hi everyone!!

I´m Using eB16.7.25 web interface.

Something funny is happening.....When I click on a PDF file inside a document using Chrome, the PDF file opens inside the navigator. But when using explorer11 it tries to download the file, despite I have currently installed Acrobat PDF and the extension for IE11.

Is there any setting to modify, so I can have the same behaviour on IE11 that the one I have in Chrome??

Many thanks!!

  • Hi Gintautas, it is set as default for v16 that has only two handlers: Launch and DownloadFile.  Anyway, we tried both and:

1-With Default settings in IE it ask to "Save As" the File.  Notice that in Edge and Chrome it opens inside the browser, "embedded" as expected.  With THIS setting in IE the file must be opened inside de browser, "embedded" like it's doing with Edge and Chrome.  (And also it was working like this with IE in v15).

2-With Launch and ActiveX control Enabled in IE it performs a Launch: the PDF is opened outside IE with Acrobat Reader as expected.  Notice that in Edge and Chrome it opens inside de browser, "embedded" again.

3-With Launch and ActiveX control Disabled in IE ask to "Save As" the File.  Notice that in Edge and Chrome it opens inside de browser, "embedded" once again.

So, as you can see, there is no way to open the PDF file inside the browser with IE and there is no way to perform a Launch with Edge and Chrome but this second behavior is not causing any trouble with the users.

Can we try other setting/s? Thanks a lot, Sebastian.
