External File Copy Request Permission

What does this permission do?

What is an external file copy?

  • External File Transfer :

eB has options which allows the eB user to extract files from eB and copy onto a shared drive, so that non-eB users can access the files.  Or so that the files can be exported into a single location so they can be copied onto DVDs etc.

This functionality has now been expanded so that the files can exported into a SharePoint site.

The design is such that the SharePoint site can be totally separate from the eB Server and even exist of a different domain, maybe as part of a ‘cloud’ deployment.

  • Hello Wisani,

Under Permissions- User Information there is a permission called "external file copy requests". eB has a File Copy Service that handles requests for copying files from eB repositories to external locations, like file shares or SharePoint sites. This permission is required for a user in order to process jobs submitted by that user.
