I’m getting various errors messages when running searches, big reports, uploading huge files or uploading files from different networks, copying or revving up eB objects.
Mostly these kinds of issues are related to timeouts set in eB. Depending on issue you are facing different Timeout setting should be changed.
COM+ Timeouts causes error messages when running searches, reports, copying or revving up eB objects
You can change this Timeout by navigating to Component Services>MyComputer>Properties>Options and increase for 'Transaction timeout'
This option can be overridden from eB SMC (System Management Console). Open eB SMC, mark Data Sources, from top menu bar select DataSources>Options and in Global Datasource Options set increased value for “Override the System Default Command Timeout”
ASP.NET Timeouts causes error messages when uploading files using eB WEB
To change this Timeout value navigate to the root of the virtual directory, edit the web.config. Locate the following section:<!-- The <authentication> section enables configuration of the security authentication mode used by ASP.NET to identify an incoming user. -->Copy this section in blue just before so it reads: <!-- Set value (in seconds) for the execution timeout. Optional Int32 attribute. Specifies the maximum number of seconds that a request is allowed to execute before being automatically shut down by ASP.NET. This time-out applies only if the debug attribute in the compilation element is False. If the debug attribute is True, to help avoiding application shut-down while you are debugging, do not set this time-out to a large value. --> <httpRuntime executionTimeout="600" /> <!-- The <authentication> section enables configuration of the security authentication mode used by ASP.NET to identify an incoming user. -->(change the value from 600 to something larger as necessary).
