This Wiki article will explain how to hide additional data (as shown in screenshot below (Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0”.)) which is received in response Header when OPTIONS request OPTIONS /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync HTTP/1.1: is sent to server.

Background

This can be tested using fiddler application.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Connect to Web server and launch Registry editor.

  2. In Registry editor navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters, create a DWORD entry called Disable Server Header and set value of 1 for this entry (see screenshot below).

  3. Restart Web server

After taking this step Response Header should not containt Miscellaneous information.
