Step-by-step instructions on Deleting a Trend Code.
Open eB Director and retrieve relevant Virtual Item Group that contains the Virtual tem (trendcode) that you want to delete.
Click on the Copy Icon
A copy wizard will be displayed. Ensure the Virtual Item Group number appears in the Prefix field and increment the revision number.
Click Next. Leave all the options selected, especially the Virtual Item Members.
Leaving these options selected should be ok for TREND CODES only as no-one should be relating the trend code virtual items by any other means than the web interface.
The content screen will refresh and the new revision of the Virtual Item Group is displayed. Note that it is Unapproved.
Expand the Virtual Item Members and double click on the Virtual Item you want to delete.
A new window will open that displays the grouped Virtual Item
Expand the structure topic and delete the relationship to the Parent Grouped Virtual Item.
Return to the Virtual Item Group. Note that the Virtual Item still appears under the virtual item members. Delete it from here.
Approve the new revision Virtual item Group.
To test this. Retrieve a CR that had the deleted trend code associated. I used CR-2007-006187 which had DEPT16 related. This still appears in the View Mode of the CR trend codes.
If I attempt to assign trend codes, the deleted trend code does not appear in the Clock Reset tree. I stayed focussed on CR-2007-006187 when I attempted to assign a new trend code.
