Internet Explorer Crashes when Attempting to Display an i.dgn File in Visual Navigator

Problem Description:

After clicking Display in Visual Navigator (attempt to view an i.dgn file) internet explorer will crash after few seconds, with no error messages displayed. Or you may get an error message saying "Internet Explorer has stopped working".

Cause:

A possible clash of DGN Navigator Controls on the client machine.

For eBweb to display an i.dgn file in visual navigator, it'll need to install Bentley DGN Navigator Control 2.1 x86 (02.00.01250.0). If the client machine has another version (or even the same version) of the control installed, a clash may occur.

Solution:

Run Add/Remove Programs (or Windows Programs and Features) and remove ALL existing version(s) of Bentley DGN Navigator Control. Then attempt the viewing again.

Workaround:

N/A

When launching *.i.dgn using eB Visual Navigator it will crash after few seconds. No error message display.
