Problem Description:

User receives the following error when trying to run eB System Management Console:

************** Exception Text ************** System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing.    at System.Xml.XmlText

Cause:

One or more of the XML files that the eBSMC uses is/are corrupted.  

Solution:

Remove the corrupted files using the steps below before running eBSMC again.

  1. Open windows explorer
  2. Go to C:\Users\<logged on user>\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\eB
  3. Move all the eB*.XML files to another folder, e.g. C:\Temp\BackupXML.
  4. Try to open eBSMC as user
