Problem:

Getting Error while logging in to the Director ‘The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000401A)’

 

Error:

Unable to communicate with the Application Server on (servername). Please ensure that the server is accessible from this (servername) machine, that the correct version (15.4.1.325) of the Application Server is being referenced and that the Index Service is running.

Workaround:

This is happening because you must have changed the password for the eB account which is being used to start the service.

• So, apply the New password in Services --> eB Service Manager --> Log On

• Try to login to Director if that doesn’t work then follow next step
• Go to Start --> Search for ‘Component Services’ --> Expand the ‘Component Services’ --> Expand Computers --> Expand My Computers --> Expand COM+ Applications

Where you can see the ‘Enterprise Informatics eB’ as shown below

• Select the ‘Enterprise Informatics eB’ then Right Click on the same and select Properties
• From the Pop up Widow select ‘Identity’ Tab and Apply the New Password as shown below. Which should resolve the issue
