Problem Description:

User gets the following error when trying to save in the My Preferences screen:

• "You don't have the required permission. You need at least the 'View' permission on the 'Organization'."

Cause:

One of the possible causes of the error is that the user does not have View permission on the organization defined in the Document Distribution section's Default Distribution Organization.

Solution:

This solution assume both the user who gets the error and the ADMIN user have the same Default Distribution Organization defined as their preference.

1. Login to ALIM Web as the ADMIN user
2. Go to User Settings
3. Expand the Document Distribution section
4. Make a note of the name defined for Default Distribution Organization
5. Login to Director as the ADMIN user
6. Search for and go to the organization noted above
7. Grant the user View permission on the organization 
8. Save the change
9. Now the user should be able to login to ALIM Web and see the Default Distribution Organization name
10. And the user should be able to make changes to other preferences and save
