Bulk import error JSONRPCError - Can not add document to folder Document Import Jobs

Problem Description:

User gets the following error when attempting use Assetwise ALIM Web Bulk Import to add documents :

  • Bulk import error JSONRPCError - Can not add document to folder Document Import Jobs

Cause:

The user cannot access (or does not have write permissions to) the container folder defined for the Bulk Import process. 

Solution:

  1. Login to ALIM Web as the ADMIN user
  2. In the Homepage pane, select Bulk import/export from the dropdown menu
  3. Click Update preferences for bulk transactions
  4. Make a note of the name defined in the Folder name to create container document in favorites field
  5. exit ALIM Web
  6. Login to ALIM Web as the user who is doing the Bulk Import
  7. In the Homepage pane, select Favorites from the dropdown menu
  8. Find the folder noted in step #4 (this folder may have been created in a different scope)
  9. Either rename or delete this folder; or change this folder's permissions (in Director)
  10. the user should be able to run Bulk Import now
