Is it possible to bulk upload an asset domain (NM0301) via csv loaders (HIG2020) ? I have a list of around 300 items I need to load against a domain rather than entering each one (around 150 mins) is there a bulk load option?
Mark
Hi Mark, Yes, it is possible to do that. If you want to load domain values against the existing domain you need to set up a loader against NM_INV_ATTRI_LOOKUP_ALL table in HIG2020 form. If you first need to create new domains you can create them manually in NM0301 form or load them via CSV loader as well. They need to be loaded into NM_INV_TYPE_ATTRIBS_ALL table. Please let me know if you need more details on the process.

I want to correct the mistake I made in the previous response – if you need to load a new domain you should do the load against NM_INV_DOMAINS_ALL table. My apologies.
However I can confirm that when you need to load the domain values you do that against NM_INV_ATTRI_LOOKUP_ALL table. In order to do that you need to select this table as a ‘Destination Table’ it in HIG2020 ‘File Destinations’ tab (should be visible in the List of Values – checked on few systems).
The file you are going to load needs to have the same number of columns that appears in the NM_INV_ATTRI_LOOKUP_ALL table. Non-mandatory columns (fields) can be left blank. See below an example record from my test CSV file (non-mandatory fields are left blank):
KN_TEST_3,23,,SE (side entry),11-Jan-1998,,18,,12-Jan-2005,12-Jan-2005,HIGHWAYS,HIGHWAYS
Then you need to describe file columns in HIG2020 ‘File Columns’ tab (should be enough to describe only mandatory fields) and indicate them as source columns for corresponding NM_INV_ATTRI_LOOKUP_ALL table columns in ‘File Destinations’ tab. Click ‘Create Holding Table’ and you are ready to load.
