When using spatial manager on the hosted service, if you are inactive for a while (can be 10 mins, but this does vary) you lose connection to the database. The background maps are still available but the database layers are lost. You have to close ArcMap and reconnect.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Hi Joanna,
I don't get this behaviour.to be honest When you say the database layers connection is lost what exactly is happening? Panning and zooming on this layer won't work? Do you get an error? And what happens if you re-connect to the db WITHOUT restarting Arcmap?

A colleague and I experience the same problem, I logged into Spatial Manager using a saved .mxd I then left it for upto an hour then when I try and do something such as pan the screen takes a while to move then the network layer does not show.
I tried to re-connect to the db which was okay but the network layer still did not show even though the layer was switched on, if you remove the layer and try to load it again you get message ‘layer is not loaded’ so all you can do is quit Arcmap and start again.
Tried to follow your steps and left the remote machine untouched for a few hours (having added only your Route Network layer). Got back in and was able to pan and zoom ok. Will check with the MAS guys to see if they have any ideas...
Do you still experience this problem? We have tried a couple of times to leave the remote machine idle and when getting back SM is still 'active' so we can't replicate this behaviour?
