Is it possible to re-allocate a defect to a different asset once it has been created?
One might usually delete the inspection if incorrect and reload , if interfaces involved that would show the changes if required. Not sure if this is meant to be allowed but did work on the test doneProcess used described below.
The defect status was AVAILABLE and noticed one of the repairs was completed before changing. Used defect to change the asset. If the status was anything but AVAILABLE unlikely to be able to change.
Queried back the defect on the Defects form MAI3806, edited the defect using Edit Defect Button, using the mouse clicked on the asset type then deleted what was there, then tabbed to the next field to clear asset reference field, then cleared the activity code, selected Find Asset button ( ignored any messages) then selected a new asset type, selected a new asset, then populated a new activity code to match the asset selected – if it passes validation it will continue and checked defect type for new activity selected , then saved the changes. Then exited the form and re-queried the defect and changes seemed to have taken place. Might want to check that the treatments match what should be allowed for the new defect as they reflected the previous combination.
