My global password to Exor was reset yesterday. When I try to connect to Exor in Spatial manager, although the connection seems to work but none of my pre set layers are active.
SM is just another front end for MAS users so if a users password changes this will affect SM if a saved map (mxd) is used which stores the encrypted password in the file. An user will either have to create a new map and setup layers from scratch or he can reset the source location for each layer. To do this he/she needs to do the following:1. Click on the Add Data button and from the Look in: dropdown select Database connections.2. Click on Add Spatial Database Connection and in the Spatial Database Connection dialog that appears Ensure the following fields are set as follows:Server: blankService: sde:oracle11gDatabase: blank
Username: <your username>Password: <your password>
Click on the Test Connection button and if it comes back with Valid, a database connection will be added to the list. Press OK button.3. On the Display tab highlight one of the layers that is not displaying and right click and click on the Properties button.4. In the Layer Properties dialog click on the Source Tab and from the Tab Set Source Data.5. Double click on the database connection created earlier and wait for the maps to appear.6. Select the map name for the layer in question and press the OK button and the link with the updated password will be applied.7. This procedure will have to be repeated for each layer in the map file.
It may well be easier and quicker to start from scratch and build up a new saved map.
