How to Change Assignee of a Task

Background

Sometimes the user assigned to an inspection 'perform' or 'authorise' task cannot complete it due to absence or workload.  They can delegate it to someone else, or the task can be reassigned to another user.

Steps to Perform the Change

  1. Query the inspection and check the tasks.  If the task you want to reassign is the current one, click the Red Pin button on the top right.  Select Reassign from the menu which will bring up this pop-up box.

  1. Enter the new Assignee of the task.  If it needs to go back to the generic inbox, leave that field blank, but it only works in certain cases, otherwise you'll have to specify a person.
  2. Click the Verify and reassign button.
  3. If the task you want to reassign is not the current one, click the hierarchy button on the top right, under the green cog button, to bring up this view:

  1. Right click the task you want to change and select 'Assign task' or 'Reassign task' (depending if it's already assigned or not) and then follow the same instructions as above.
  2. If there is an open delegated task, this has to be completed before reassigning the original remaining authorisation task.  You cannot have two open authorisation tasks with the same name.
