Can’t export PED file in MAI3863

(8028 False)
  Product(s): Exor Maintenance Manager
  Version(s): 04.05.00.00
  Environment: N/A
  Area: Loaders - Inspection
  Subarea: N/A

Problem Description

Trying to export PED in MAI3863 - Download Assets by Inspection form user gets ‘ORA-20001: file location or name was invalid’ or ‘ORA-20001: file “full_path_of_the_file” could not be opened as requested’.

Reason

INTERPATH  is a directory on the database server as the database server sees it. There is also a discrete user option INTERPATH. The directory is either missing or is entered incorrectly in Directories form or under User Options.

Steps to resolve

  1. Check if there is an INTERPATH directory entered in Directories form.
  2. Check if all Java Roles Privileges are ON for all roles for INTERPATH directory in Directories form under Java Role Privs tab. Set ‘All On’ for each role if they are not.
  3. Check if there is a user option INTERPATH set for the user you are trying to export PED file with in Users form.
  4. Check if the directory exists on the database server and is writable.
  5. Make sure, you have entered the same value for “File path” (on MAI3863 form) as INTERPATH value is set to.
  6. Check if the database directory is accessible by the database parameter UTL_FILE_DIR. It's value should be set to that specific directory or to '*' (to allow access to any directory). More on how to check and set UTL_FILE_DIR can be found here.
