Problem
Can all defects be placed on a works order using one item code. Needs to clear off some older defects at zero cost.
Solution
Create a new sub sub item code, then assign all activity codes wishes to pick up to that new item code. Then create a budget that reflects the new code - to pick up on a works order. Use the new item code in conjunction with other criteria from the works order form to select appropriate defects. Any not appropriate can be returned to the pool by not selecting or removing from line ( if assigned ) . However, needs to be careful to check that this doesn't violate any cost reporting managers maybe doing that require defects to come out of correct budgets. An alternative is to repeat selecting appropriate item code budgets and choosing defects. The second method will mean repeating selection process, first method should only need one selecting process. However need to ensure only selects the defects you want. could end up selecting everything if not careful. You have been warned - Cancelling a works order etc can return all defects to the pool. Need to ensure no lines completed though to allow.
