User is unable to enter dates in any other format than DD-MON-YYYY
In order to use different date formats in Oracle forms a registry setting is needed on the application server which declares what sort of date formats a user can enter. Once this is set then all users can use any format given in the registry setting. Information about this is available in the Exor Product Installation and Upgrade Guide.
The registry setting needed is called: FORMS_USER_DATE_FORMATThis needs to be set as a new string in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\oracle_home\. For example HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\key_asfr\
An example string value which needs to be set is: DD-MON-RRRR|DDMONRRRR|DD/MM/RRRR|DD.MM.RRRR
This then allows for the following date formats to be used01-JAN-200501-JAN-0501JAN200501JAN0501/01/200501/01/0501.01.200501.01.05Problem ref 55174
Users using the 4500 release or later will need to make a different change to make this work in Oracle 11g. See:
