There seems to be an issue with the 'master' coordinates for a record - when the geometry of a street is amended, the coordinates don't seem to get updated, which can cause confusion when using these coordinates to determine the correct USRN for utility works. These can be done manually, individually, but takes up a large resource. Is there a script to run/patch that will correct these en masse as there are a large number of records this applies to
If you go to Street Gazetteer Manager>Data>Administration>Reset Street Coordinates a box appears that says Reset Street Coordinates. Selecting this button will go through the whole Gazetteer and update any co-ordinates ( at the start and end of streets ) where the underlying esu layer may have changed. It may take a time to do so please be patient.
For your information. The version number of the street will change where co-ordinates change but this should not be a problem. This is driven by product option NSG VERSIONING (fastpath to Product Options, HIG9130), go into query mode and enter VER% in the second column ( Option id ), then execute query. This option is normally set to Y. This causes the version number of the street if any changes are made to the start and end co-ordinates of the street. If this option is altered to is set to N and saved, then when the recalculation is done, the version number would not change. However one MUST put this option back to the previous version if do change just for the calculation.
Our recommendation is not to change this product option as a street is changing attributes unless this is being done for error correction purposes.
You should also be aware that when doing any editing it is possible to recalculate the street co-ordinates using Spatial Manager. If one highlights the street and hits the calculate button ( see screen shot enclosed ) Then this will do the same thing just for that street. Again it uses the product option mentioned previously.
