Can I allow a user to create reports and restrict them from viewing currently in progress reports?

I would like to add a user and allow them to create inspection reports (special inspections for county bridge owners), but I do not want them to see currently in progress reports on the asset created by other users. Is this possible? I am having trouble getting the security set correctly.

  • Yes! You'll need to remove the role's access to other inspection types.

Administration > Site Configuration > Manage Asset & Reports Settings > Report Types > selec the report type to which the user should NOT have access > Edit > Advanced Settings > Roles that can access this report type > deselect > save

Repeat as necessary to restrict the role from seeing those report types.

  • Thank you. The issue with that is, I really only want to restrict them from seeing in progress reports, not the final approved report. Is there any way to restrict that level?

For example - my districts may have in progress routine inspection reports that they are correcting, and they do not want the Parish bridge owners to be able to see this report until it is approved and corrected.

  • You can restrict them via workflow. If they don't have access to the in progress report within the workflow, they won't be able to see it.
