Main span: 140 m (459 ft.)
Owner: Works Department, Emirate of Abu Dhabi
Client: Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S.A. (Contractor)
Scope of Work: Since 2003, Buckland & Taylor Ltd. has been providing the erection engineering for the Shaikh Zayed Bridge. It is expected to be completed in 2010.
To perform the extensive ongoing analysis required, HPR chose to use Bentley's RM Bridge software, believing it was the only software capable of analyzing such a complex structure
"The flexible nature of RM Bridge and the ability to adjust the analysis to suit the needs enabled a swift turnaround of construction issues," says Davies.

RM Bridge is a family of integrated software applications that enables users to solve engineering problems in a single engineering environment--developing and analyzing a consistent bridge model in a continuous cycle.

The system ensures accuracy and fidelity of information as it is seamlessly reused, refined, and reprocessed. This increases engineering efficiency as organizations no longer waste valuable time inputting information again, or re-engineering data midstream.

"RM's flexibility undoubtedly reduced the time required to assess the engineering problems and evaluate solutions," says Davies. "Such time savings brought consequent cost savings, and resolution of engineering issues in a timely manner allowed unhindered focus on construction activities.
