Hi, dear friends, please help me with this following question.
I read the tutorial of CONSPAN and it tells that CONSPAN does the longitudinal reinforcement code check (according to AASHTO LRFD 5.8.3.5). Where could I check this code check result in the output file? Does "Al_reqd" in shear design output mean longitudinal reinforcement required due to 5.8.3.5?
Thanks for the help.
This is the part of 5.8.3.5 code check in tutorial.
BTW, is there a notation list for output file? Some of the symbol used in CONSPAN is easy to understand. But some may not be that clear.
Sincerely thanks again.
yes ,Conspan calculates the longitudinal reinforcement .Al_reqd -- Required area of longitudinal reinforcement (Art. 5.8.3.5), computed as [(the right hand side of Equation 5.8.3.5-1) - Aps*fps]/fy.Al_reqd calculation is not shown in the Conspan Tutorial Manual.
But Longitudinal Reinforcement calculation example can be found in RCPier Tutorial manual. Please check Tutorial 2 hand calculation , Page 37 . Please see the attached screenshot. I hope this information helps.

The Nomenclature list is available in Leap Conspan User manual. Please check Appendix A for LFD and Appendix B for LRFD code . Nomenclature and Printout explanation is available for both the codes.
Please see the attached screenshot. I hope this information helps.
