Live Load Generation in Metric option

When i Generate Live Load the spacing between truck axles is 6.0 m not 1.8 m , i suppose that this is a pug in software which see 6 otherwise feet or meters. how can i violate this problem?

Thanks , my question is related to RC-PIER . my bridge width is 14.95m, the distance between the two axles should be 1.8m or 6 ft which is 0.12L but the calculated one is 0.4013L equals 6m . when I convert to US unit system the distance equals 6 ft.

  • I tested this issue and I agree with your findings, the program is placing the distance between 2 axles at 6m for metric units and the same file with US units the program is placing the axles at 6ft which is a huge difference and needs to be fixed. Please see the first 2 screenshots for more information.

There are a few workaround solution for this issue.

1 ) Automatic Generation of live load using Design truck + lane  under Compute Simple span reaction or continuous Beam Reaction option . Please see the 3rd screenshot for more information.

    2) The other workaround solution is to manually change the x1/L distances for 2 forces in Y directions under Cap Loads so that the difference is 0.2L.

    3) The third workaround solution is run the analysis in Conbox and then import the Superstructure reaction to RCpier.
