"Span Number Rear To Current Pier"

Hi, Dear All, 
 
 I have a question regarding "superstructure parameters" in RC-Pier. 
 Say the pier I am designing is the middle pier in a two-span bridge. Am I right in the following input? Should I put 1 or 2 there? Is this related to "upstation"/"downstation" option? Please let me know. Thanks.

If you are designing the middle pier in a two-span bridge then the " Span Number Rear To Current Pier value should be 1 " . 
 It is not related to upstation/downstation option. The heading is saying that the Rear/Back/Previous span number to the current pier that's being designed needs to be inputted.
