yes. however the pier line text isn't the problem (since it can be tuned off), its the text that attached to other components, for instance, bearings. That text cant be turned off without turning off the bearings. Only the pierline text is separated from the components in explorer.

I just wonder if turning off the Pierlines in Project Explorer will work for you.

this only works for plan views, to an extent. for sections, where the text goes is along the clip plane, this wont work for. additionally, if i have a bridge and the footings are below elevation 0, the text goes right through my section and in plan view and i wont be able to show the footings if the are beyond the clip plane.

As a temporary workaround for now:

All of the text and line graphics for a bearing group are at elevation 0. As a temporary work-around set the view’s display depth to start at a value above Z=0. This will set the view's front and back clipping planes of what can be displayed. Only elements located between the front and back clipping planes are then seen.

Could someone from Bentley give a timeline for when we will have the ability to turn off the text? its really hard to cut sections with text cutting through the sections and plans with text we don't want showing up to make contract plans from the model.

Mike, I understand. Currently user does not have control over turning off the text or the size of the text. We will add an enhancement in a future update to make this more flexible.

we have to be able to turn this text off, how are we supposed to be able to cut sections and make plan views, etc from a 3d model if when we turn the text off, our components turn off?

It needs to be placed on a different layer or some other way to allow separation.

If we can't turn off the text is there a way to control it's size? It's very big.

thanks, however it looks as if you can't turn off the text for additional components, such as bearings and beam groups without turning off the bearings and beams group lines as well...

Only way is turn off the PierLines in the Project Explorer/ Bridge data.
