I have a contractor who wishes us to deliver bridge models in IFC format. Is this currently possible in OBM? I'm not seeing IFC as an export option.
Any update on this? also can each object of the bridge be geolocate?
Hi Luc,
For geolocate please have a look over this article
https://communities.bentley.com/products/bridge_design___engineering/w/bridge_design_and_engineering__wiki/42181/using-bing-maps-as-background-in-openbridge-modeler-ce-update-7
Thank you Vlad, but I was more interested in..... if I export to IFC only one member of the bridge. Will the Geolocation info of that element will be store somewhere in the IFC file? So it can be read back?
If someone open the IFC and choose to place by Geolocation the element will be place in the correct position and orientation.
Another scenario, we export the generic shape we have design, send that shape to a sub-contractor who modify for its needs. return the modify element.
Then we can replace the previous version by the new one we receive and everything fall in place. (Interchangeability and interoperability)
Hi Sri
Is OBM update 3 (due in Nov) going to have export to IFC?
I need to know for a project that is starting very soon and will alter the workflow if it does/does not have the capability
Regards
Craig
Hello Craig, We are currently working on this. While we are making good progress, the volume of work is enormous and it is difficult to commit to including full functionality in the Nov. release.
Thanks,
Sri
