LEAP Bridge v8.1.0 incorporates the following enhancements:
• The ABC Wizard can now directly read in alignment, cross-section and profile information from LandXML files. The bridge model can now be generated very accurately directly utilizing the true geometry prevailing at the site. • An alternate 3D viewer based on OpenGL technology has been incorporated into LEAP Bridge. This provides additional functionality such as isometric/ortho views, wireframe model view, gradient background options, and new icons that allow for quick view of the bridge in X-Y, Y-Z and Z-X planes. • The information in the ABC Wizard can be saved and edited provided that a component program has not been used to update the model. This enhancement allows the users to edit and save just the ABC Wizard generated portion of the data.
Superstructure Module: CONBOX v 8.1.0
CONBOX v8.1.0 incorporates the following enhancements based on user requests and resolves some issues that were found in earlier versions. The following enhancements are present in CONBOX v8.1.0:
• Shear design of sections containing less than minimum amount of transverse reinforcement. • Face-of-Support definition and option to exclude sections within faces of supports from stress checks, and flexure & shear design. • Elimination of Final w/o Sway Load Case. Automatic generation of default load combinations. • Option to specify allowable stress for each Service Limit State Load Combination. • Options to specify Dynamic Load Allowance and one-lane-loaded Multiple Presence Factor for Strength II and Fatigue Limit States. • Options to specify which load combinations should be used in estimating minimum PJack, f'ci, and f'c. • Option to save and reuse user default settings. • New "Hinged Span" option for automatic tendon layout for hinged spans. • Option to specify whether or not to reduce effective web width for the presence of ducts. • Option to specify whether to use f'c at 28-days or 10,000-days for calculating allowable stresses, and flexure and shear strengths.
Superstructure Module: CONSPAN v 8.1.0
• Deck Slab Design using the Empirical method is now available in CONSPAN. • Rather than specifying a detailed strand pattern, users can now simplify specify a jacking force and strand cg at end and at midspan. • The strand patterns (including debonding and variable pull percentage) can be now be saved and re-used in an independent strand pattern file across projects. • An option to automatically set the haunch width based on the girder top width is now available. • On the Analysis Tab, a more user friendly grid control has been introduced for display of results. User can select and copy the results from the grid. • Data transfer with AASHTOWARE Virtis/Opis v6.0 is now supported.
Substructure Module: RC-PIER v 8.1.0
• LEAP RC-PIER introduces a new module abutment design, in addition to pier design. LEAP RC-PIER allows users design two types of abutments: Pile Cap Abutment and Stem Wall Abutment. • Pile Cap Abutment: Users can define the pile cap with normal and /or battered piles. This option designs pile cap as a beam supported on knife supports located along the pile cap length. Program generates detailed pile reaction table showing vertical as well as horizontal resistance provided by piles. • Stem Wall Abutment: Users can define back wall, stem and either spread footing or pile cap footing. The comprehensive design of stem includes the calculation of flexural reinforcement at the top and the bottom of the stem. It also offers P-M interaction diagram for a typical stem wall cross-section. • LEAP RC-PIER now supports battered piles. The program calculates the vertical and horizontal reactions for each pile. This information can be used further in pile design.
The software was released Nov.10.2008 as part of the V8i global launch and is now available for download directly from Bentley Select Server. Get your upgrade today and test drive the new functionality!
