OpenBridge - How to update an existing Alignment

My situation is that I have an alignment sent to me as an alg file, which I have imported into OpenBridge and have used to make bridges. I have received another alg file which contains updates to the current alignment. Whenever I try to import this new geometry into OpenBridge, the existing alignment fails to update. I am aware you can delete the existing alignment and import the new one in, but then this dissociates any alignments with my bridges and makes certain elements uneditable (e.g. deck).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can you try to rename the existing alignment and associated profile in OpenBridge, and then try to import the changed alignment. If this successful, you can then use the Set Working Alignment for Bridge command to move your bridge to the new alignment.

Going forward, remember that an alternative workflow, where you reference in a file with the alignment rather than import may be a preferred workflow in these situations
