My situation is that I have an alignment sent to me as an alg file, which I have imported into OpenBridge and have used to make bridges. I have received another alg file which contains updates to the current alignment. Whenever I try to import this new geometry into OpenBridge, the existing alignment fails to update. I am aware you can delete the existing alignment and import the new one in, but then this dissociates any alignments with my bridges and makes certain elements uneditable (e.g. deck).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try to rename the existing alignment and associated profile in OpenBridge, and then try to import the changed alignment. If this successful, you can then use the Set Working Alignment for Bridge command to move your bridge to the new alignment.
Going forward, remember that an alternative workflow, where you reference in a file with the alignment rather than import may be a preferred workflow in these situations
Thank you for your response Sri.
I have attempted your solution, but it does not appear to be working. I have been using the workflow you suggested, and have been trying to update the alignment within the reference file. Any further assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Assuming the alignment and profile have the same name, delete the existing alignment, then import the updated alignment and profile. Then reopen the model with the bridge, and use the Update Bridge button to force OBM to redraw the bridge using the most up to date geometry.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your response. Even if the alignments have the same name, deleting still dissociates them with my bridges.
What I have found in the past whenever I needed to "update" alignments is that you have to bring the new alignment in with a different name, use the "alignment bridge" tool in the bridge setup tab to move the bridge to that new alignment.

Many thanks for your response Steven. I found that even if I give them different names, once I have shifted the bridge to the new alignment, deleting the old line will still dissociate any information.
I forgot to mention, sometimes when you move a bridge to a new alignment the stationing can get thrown out of whack. You may have to use the "move bridge" tool to reset the begin bridge to correct station. That has helped me in this situation in the past, but I have also run into a situation where no matter what I did I could not reestablish correct association, so something got corrupt. At that point i just created a new file and re-built the model which really wasn't too bad considering you can build models in OBM in a couple hours or less. This is another reason why i created an excel input template to save all input data in case i need it again in the future.
Many thanks Steven, I believe I have encountered the same issues as you have, as no matter what I do I can not re-establish correct association. Re-making the models is not really ideal as we have over 100 to make. What is this excel input template?
