My situation is that I have an alignment sent to me as an alg file, which I have imported into OpenBridge and have used to make bridges. I have received another alg file which contains updates to the current alignment. Whenever I try to import this new geometry into OpenBridge, the existing alignment fails to update. I am aware you can delete the existing alignment and import the new one in, but then this dissociates any alignments with my bridges and makes certain elements uneditable (e.g. deck).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for your response Steven. I found that even if I give them different names, once I have shifted the bridge to the new alignment, deleting the old line will still dissociate any information.
I forgot to mention, sometimes when you move a bridge to a new alignment the stationing can get thrown out of whack. You may have to use the "move bridge" tool to reset the begin bridge to correct station. That has helped me in this situation in the past, but I have also run into a situation where no matter what I did I could not reestablish correct association, so something got corrupt. At that point i just created a new file and re-built the model which really wasn't too bad considering you can build models in OBM in a couple hours or less. This is another reason why i created an excel input template to save all input data in case i need it again in the future.

Many thanks Steven, I believe I have encountered the same issues as you have, as no matter what I do I can not re-establish correct association. Re-making the models is not really ideal as we have over 100 to make. What is this excel input template?
I have the same issue. Has this been resolved because my bridge will not update to the new alignment with the new profile and it is very frustrating.
