I am modeling a rectangular bent cap with multiple columns in LEAP BRIDGE. By default, a hinge is placed at the top of column. I have removed the hinge, but after running analysis the hinge is back at the top of column. How do I turn the hinge off permanently?
I tested this issue in V18.00.0034 where in I placed the hinge at the top of the column and I Ran the analysis and updated/saved the file and then I reopened the file and Hinge was retained. Please check if you have latest version v18.00.00.34.
I hope it helps.
I am using V19.00.00.50 and have the same problem as Cynthia.
I wish to model my columns as fixed-fixed, so I want to delete the hinges at the top of the columns. However, after I unchecked the Local Direction box under Hinge in the Structure Model window, I later reopened the file and the hinges reappeared. Sometimes they even reappear after closing and reopening the Structure Model window.
Do hinge assignments need to be re-checked each time a design file is opened, or is there a way to turn off the default hinge?
No once the hinge is unchecked the program should not turn on again.
This is a know issue and a defect 1046077 has been filed for this issue.
This happens when Texas state option is selected in the Project TAB and in V19.00.00.50.
The development team is aware of this issue and they are working on this issue and will be fixed in the future release.
Thank you for the feedback!
