Hello,
Ive created a model in openbridge and wanted to create a profile along the Rail alignment used that shows the deck piers and ground level. I was planning on doing this in PowerCivil however I've been unable to reference in the Openbridge model or open it using PowerCivil and get this error.
I am using "Bentley PowerCivil for UK and Ireland V8i (SELECTseries 4)" and "OpenBridge Modeler CONNECT Edition - 2018 Release 2" it seem odd that two Bently products don't work together so i assume its something with the versions I'm using.
If i cant get this to work is there a way to cut the profile in openbridge its self?
Thanks for the help,
Matthew
Hy Matthew,
You can reference CE files to V8 models but there will be Read Only. You can't open and V8 file in CE because of the schema change.
OBM has the capability to draw plan and profile cuts using the Place Named Boundary command.
OK so I'm really going to have to wait for my company to adopt Connect edition stuff.
I have just had a quick play round with the Place Name Boundary tool but I'm struggling to make it work and cant find too much info on how to use it to cut sections. I've found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly4DEScVfUQ where the user seems to have the same issue as me where the lines that mark where my sections want to be cut are in the moddel but the sections themselves don't seem to be created.
Have you used this tool and had it work when creating sections and could you point me to some directions in how to use it?
Thank
