Is there a way in LEAP Bridge Concrete to model a left and right pier at the same location? See screen capture below for the situation I have.
The superstructure is continuous (one deck) covering both the left and right piers. I was thinking about modeling the entire pier, both left and right, in one model and just applying a hinge at the ends of the caps. This would not allow moment to transfer thru, however, shear forces would still transfer thru. If I just model half the deck width with one pier, the interior girder (G12 or G13) will be treated as an exterior girder and the live load Leap Concrete automatically generates will be much lower than the actual live load reaction.
As you have mentioned applying hinge is the only option and it is not possible to create 2 piers side by side with a gap.
the workaround solution is to create 2 separate files.
