Parametric Cell Constraints

I am working on a parametric cell that will be inserted on my bridge model in OBM, my question is how can i put an angle constraint at the bottom of my cell so i can modify the skew of the abutment, i've put my constraints on the side of the cell then extruded it sidewards, is there another way to do this? I can put the angle constraints on the bottom before extruding it upwards but then i can't modify the shape on the top which can be done by putting the constraint sidewards.

  • Hi Crisanto,

I added one video where you can see how you can cut your abutment after an angle.

You need to create a 2d shape on top view and put an angle parameter face of one fixed line.

I left down one photo where I tried to explain to you how you can do this thing.

  • Great insight! thanks Andrei, is it also possible to apply a slope on the top of the abutment? thank you.

  • With pleasure! Yes, you can. Take a look at the video and there I made for you 3 cases about how you can add a slope for your abutment. Down you find the cases explained from the video.

1.Chamfer ( you pick an edge and after you can change 2 values )

2.Taper face ( you pick a face and after you can change the angle for that face )

3.You can make a 2d parametric shape, and after you just need to cut your abutment and change the values for that cutting shape from variables.
