Hi,
I'm using LEAP Bridge connect edition.
Is there a way to get combined dead load deflection ordinates from LEAP bridge? I know the camber table will provide these values, but we prefer to also have a more formal table of values for backup design calculations and quality control. Also, I'm finding that parapet loading is not being accounted for in the camber table (coming up as 0 camber). Is there a reason for this, all other load cases seem to populated fine.
Also, is there a way to implement flexural capacity per AASHTO Appendix A6 in the program? We have very stocky girders due to clearance restrictions on a bridge, and as a result, are within the bounds of appendix a6, which should allow for increased capacity. I also have the same question about moment redistribution around a pier, I cannot seem to find an option/toggle that will allow either of these measures to be implemented.
Node Deflection -- Go to Analysis Dialog Box --> Run the analysis --> Show Reports --> Dead Load / Live load --> Node Displacement.
The program will generate the displacement values in Tabular format.
Camber --> Go to Camber Diagram --> Check the "Final - SW Appurtenances - Parapets --> The program will add one more Row for Parapets and will show the deflected values.
AASHTO Appendix A6 requirements has been implemented internally .
Vinay,
Thank you for the response.
I did see those tables for dead load ordinates, but they seem to provide ordinates on a case by case basis only. I was looking to see if there was a summary table, say if you wanted to see the total overall deflection for DC1 dead load in a table format, rather than separate values for the weight of the slab/steel, x-frames, etc.
As far as Appendix A6, I found the strength limit state reports say Appendix A6 not applicable, see image attached. It looks like the checks below for Appendix A6 are all coming up as satisfied, with the exception of "Diaphragms Parallel to Supports." For this bridge, all of the diaphragms are set up parallel to the supports, so I'm wondering if maybe there is some option I'm missing that would trigger this condition to be satisfied.
Vinay mysore Any update on this question?
1) LBS provides the breakdown of the deflections due to individual loads at each POIs. Users have the flexibility to decide how to combine those deflections.
2) I apologize for my previous reply .The Appendix A6 implementation will be available in the next release.
Thanks for the patience.
