In the picture you will find the steps.
Also I attached one video where you can observe that my footing is pushed down under the terrain level.
Program will move the top of the footing under the terrain level automatically, if you have an active terrain for your bridge and you have already mapped the variable.

How about if i would like to put a specific height from top of pile cap to terrain level? instead of just having it under the terrain level. Can i still change the value of the parameter even if its already mapped? cheers.
If it's already mapped, you can change the variable manually, but the program will refresh that value automatically because he knows that he need to search the terrain level after each modification.
If you want manually you place without that mapping variable, if you want automatically you map the variable.
In the photo from below I left some explanation's from where you can see how you can add an offset for your footing. If you will do this, you will be able to push down or top your footing, face of the mapped variable who will search the terrain level.
