[OBM CE] Multi-model 2d-3d setup or 3d only?

Question

Hi all, 
 
 Is OpenBridge Modeler designed/intended to work in the same 2D-3D way as OpenRoads (2d model for geometry and 3d for Terrains, Features, Solids, etc) for or is it intended to be used in a 3D only model evironment? 
 
 I see the seed is 3D only, but it seems to work in the same multi-model 2d-3d way as OpenRoads if we set it up that way.

 I would stay with a 3D only workflow for the bridge modeling. Geometry like alignments should still be in 2D models.
