What is the quickest way of assigning soil springs on pile nodes?
Hi Manuel Naval,
The quickest way of assigning soil springs on pile nodes is not thru the GUI, but in an input text file. The programmable ASCII will allow you to create routines for repetible elements in the .tcl format.
Hi Marcos. I just want to followup on my query below.
See my reply above. About the .tcl scripting interface as input, there are additional references inside RM Bridge installation:
At File\Examples\Demo Examples & FAQ\ TCL Demo Examples, where the ASCII text programmable part is shown.
At Help\Technical Notes\ TCL Scrip Guide & TCL Scrip Commands, where the concepts, strings, tools, commands and syntax are explained.
Appreciate very much your reply. I have another followup questions:
1. Do i need to do the TCL edits in the GP model or RM analyzer?
2. In doing the TCL, shall i only include the springs and element involve? i mean in the TCL export in GP, there is no option of exporting partial TCL (eg, springs only).
Edit the tcl's in Analyzer and include only the springs and element involved, then use the Import button and select the option Add to project, which means you are creating new input partial data.
If you estimate as valuable there is also the possibility to include all infrastructure elements (but not the Springs) in Modeler. For long projects the Substructure Wizard is an easy way to add a lot of data. You can check the post:
Thank you for your questions and the opportunity to clarify things also for those that may have the same doubts in the future.
