How to check if I have the proper template library?. I am using OpenBridge Modeler CONNECT Edition, Update 8.1, v10.08.01.78

  • The template is usually unavailable when the “Bentley Property Catalog Service” is not running properly in the Services dialog. Please try the following to troubleshoot:

    • Open Services dialog (This can be opened under Windows > Windows Administrative tools > Services) and you should see “Bentley Property Catalog Service” Running and should be set to Automatic (see image Below):
    • If this is not running please reboot the machine and see if the service is running
    • If yes, open OBM and see if the library shows

    • If this does not resolve the issue please open "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering\SPC Server v8i SS4\Tools\Bentley.Structural.PropertyCatalog.ManagementStudio.exe"
    • And check if you can see as shown below (Section Subsystem > Sections > Australia > STEEL > Hot Rolled > AS/NZS > Ver 3679.1-300 > OneSteel > … and double click on any section to see if it opens I the panel on the right as shown below. This is just to verify that the SPC service is running correctly and that the sections catalog is also installed properly.

  • My “Bentley Property Catalog Service” was not running at the first instance. And there wasn't any folder called "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering".

Then I checked how did I installed the software to my system. When I installed the 'obm10080178en.exe' file directly from the Bentley software's, the “Bentley Property Catalogue" was not 'Running'. What I did was

    • Downloaded the 'Raw_download' SDK's of OBM Version v10.08.01.78
    • Installed the 'SPCServerSetup.08.11.11.21.msi' and 'SPCSetup.3.1.4.5.msi' first
    • Reboot the system and Checked “Bentley Property Catalog Service”  from services and it was in 'Running' mode and
    • The folder and files appeared "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering\SPC Server v8i SS4\Tools\Bentley.Structural.PropertyCatalog.ManagementStudio.exe"
    • Installed the OBM 'Setup_OpenBridgeModelerx64_10.08.01.78.exe'
    • Opened the OBM Steel bridge file which I working on and the pull down menu was displaying the contents.

Thanks Dilip for the kind information.
