I am modeling a bridge in LBS that has a 2.625" bituminous wearing surface; however, I do not see an option to include this information in the model. When I define the vertical curve, the model places the crown of the deck right on the profile grade line. This means that all my deck and steel elevations are 2.625" too high.
Is there a way to easily incorporate the depth of pavement into the model so that my elevations are correct?
Do I have to edit the elevations of my PVI to reflect the pavement depth? That seems like a poor workaround.
directly you can assign wearing surface information here
Workaround solution is to model the wearing surface in the appurtenances library.
I hope it helps
Your answers are ways to model the dead load of the wearing surface. I am asking for advice on how to model the physical thickness of the pavement so that my bridge elevations are correct. Thanks again, Ross
you can make the load as 0 and see if that helps you in modeling only physical thickness.
