I'm designing a bridge abutment in LEAP and get a message that the piles are collinear and there exists an unbalanced moment in the direction perpendicular to the line of piles. How do I check and resolve this?

Piles are designed only for axial forces and for that purpose they are used as groups (not colinear), The program does not design the piles but it computes the axial forces to which they are subjected. If you have colinear piles you should use the option "piles integral with cap" which will design the piles as columns.
