Hi,
I modeled a truss in RM bridge and I have a couple questions about analyzing it.
1. I am trying to analyze the tensile resistance of members but I don't see a spot to input the net area of a member?
2. For compression, does the program calculate K, the effective length factor, or is that something I can input?
3. Is there a way to get an output that shows the calculations or can I only get the end results?
Thanks!
Hi Jennifer,
You can find more information about the Steel Checks inside RM Bridge Enterprise CONNECT Edition at File\Examples\Training Examples. A more detailed description for the Steel Checks is given at the link below about the Steel Design - Training Example for a. Eurocode and b. AASTHO. User need to input the definition of slender cross section parts at the Cross-Sections Reference Sets and the buckling characteristic effective lengths are inputted by a table. Import the datasets to use as a reference and open the documentation in the .pdf format to follow the input in the examples.
