Placing a deck in a squared alignment

Hi All,

I would like to know if its possible to place a deck in a alignment that is similar to this one? i'm modelling a footbridge at the moment.

When i try to place a deck it was only an incomplete one with the edges distorted, the edges should be squared to the alignment. Is there a workaround in this one? thanks

The deck should look something like this:

Cheers

  • Hmm... this is going to be very tricky. These kind of alignments where support lines from segment cross over another portion of the alignment are very problematic and often lead to issues. I would suggest creating two different bridges and using some solid manipulation tools to cut the intersecting portions out.

  • I would create 4 units so that I can tackle the 3 changes in direction. Make your design and do not take into account the overlapping portions of the deck, for the moment. When your design is done, using the Solid Tools provided, trim/extend/merge your deck solids. Please note that after you take this step, any change that is done to the OBM solids will trigger a bridge update that will force the recreation of the OBM objects, thus, you will have again overlapped decks. I would create the elevation reports etc. prior of modifying the solids.
