If we have already created a LEAP Steel model and now need to load rate the superstructure, is there a need to use LARS for the rating? The owner requires several Legal Load trucks and a permit truck.
Is there a way to open a LEAP Steel model in LARS?
You should be able to load rate the steel bridge just fine in LBS (LEAP Bridge Steel). One thing you have to be careful with is that a single LBS model can only store one set of results at a time: Design or Rating. Therefore, once you have completed the design you will need to save a copy of that LBS file, switch to the Rating mode, run it, and save that LBS file.

Thank you Steven. Can you open/import a LBS model in LARS so we don't have to recreate the entire bridge model?
I don't believe so but I've never really looked into in detail before either. I don't see why you would have to use LARS to load rate though unless there is some function in that which LBS does not have. You should be able to build custom truck loads in LBS without issue.
The DOH does not use LBS and wants a LARS model to run superloads at anytime. The model is to contain all of their legal loads (10 vehicles) also. I would be ideal to be able to import a LBS into LARS.
Currently it is not possible to Import a LBS into LARS.
