Deck Offset Issues in Bridge Model

I am modeling a precast bridge superstructure in LEAP Concrete.  This is a 4-span bridge.  The deck is offset from the three center piers by 0.42 ft, and I cannot figure out how to make it centered about the pier cap. The abutments are centered, but I cannot force the piers to be centered about the deck/superstructure.   There is a location within the Substructure tab that is specifically for deck offsets, but when I change this to 0.00, it does not change the actual model, and always reverts back to 0.42 ft.  Any guidance on how to get rid of the offset and make the superstructure centered about the substructure?  Thank you for any help.

  • Looking at your file it seems that somehow an Alignment Offset of 0.4183 got introduced for all the intermediate supports.  Is this something you intended to have?  I am assuming you were not.

To fix the problem we need access to the different geometry options in the Superstructure module.

    • I opened Superstructure > Precast/Prestressed module and in Project tab toggled on “Flared Girder”

    • You will get a prompt that Data may be lost – click on Yes

    • Navigate to Geometry tab and click on Layout to Open Bridge Component Layout dialog
    • Click on PR01 and change the Alignment Offset from -0.4183 to 0.00 and click on OK
    • Repeat the same for PR02 and PR03
    • Finally click on OK in the Bridge Component Layout dialog to accept the changes

    • Close Precast/Prestressed module and click on Yes  to update LBC (click on NO to report generation)

    • Now when you will open any of the Pier substructure modules it will not give you the error about 0.42’ deck offset.
