I would like to be able to hide individual lines in my section views in order to make the drawings look correct. One specific example is shown in the image. I'd like to be able to hide the line between the 2 elements so it looks like one solid element.
I understand that if you can model it 'correctly' you should, but its not always possible, and sometimes modelling it correctly means that it looks messy on a drawing.
In Revit, this is achieved by using an invisible linestyle on that particular line. It works very well and helps a tonne when creating drawings.

However, I don't think there's a similar feature in OpenBridge/Microstation.
If it's not possible, what do people use as a workaround for this?

Would the Clip Mask work?
I kind of does, but it's a bit messy and cumbersome to use for individual lines.
Another alternative, perhaps Display Styles/ Display Rules/Construction Class could be used to achieve this.
You could also try using the Unite command to merge the those two elements. That may have other undesired effects though.

Yeah, using unite seems to destroy the parametric abilities of the object, which I'd like to avoid. If it didn't break the object smarts, it would be a good solution.
Yeah I've tried a few things with Display Rules, but I can't find a way to have the rules apply to a single line of an object, while not affecting how the rest of the object is displayed. If there's a way I'd love to know.
Yea, unfortunately I think the clip mask Sri mentioned is going to be your only solution. It shouldn’t be too bad though, you’ll probably want to draw the clip element on a non plotting level or construction class.
I created a level that used the background color as its default color and gave it a heavier weight than any line in my drawing and gave it a high priority and it seems to work fine.
LV=!BG, CO=BG, WT=5, Priority=500
See if that works for you.
Did that still work when you print to PDF?
I placed a line along the bottom of the cap. Download the PDF and zoom in ... the image below is misleading.
