How to export superstructure loads from Leap Bridge Steel to substructure design/analysis? it appears none of my loads (DL, LL, DW, TU) have come in from the superstructure. I see the option to import from text file. is there something I need to do in the superstructure module to export my loads to the substructure?
Thanks.
in LBS : Input all the Dead Load and Live loads in the Loads Dialog Box --> Please run the analysis --> Click on Substructure Design/Analysis option --> In the new Dialog Box Select the DL , LL , fatigue , RSA loads and other relevant loads and then click on Design/Analysis Button.
The program will automatically import all the loads selected.
The other option is to go to individual load case and click on Read option and import the loads from Suprestructure.

I found this thread while getting ready to post a question, and although my question is not exactly the same, it applies as well. We are able to go to substructure design and analysis and export the geometry and loads with no problems (so far). The issue I have is that we cannot save the design/analysis as the main file tab (new/open/save/save as) is missing in that LBC opened up from LBS. I noticed that you do not have it either in your screenshots above. I was trying to export this from LBS and saving it under OBD so other designers would not have to go in to LBS at all, but could start with the base geometry and loads. But if I cannot save the file, they will not be able to open it. Can you let me know how to save that design/analysis in LBS?
The program does saves all the information , i would suggest you to not to overwrite the existing information.
Please let me know if you are still facing this issue.
Vinay,
It does not matter if I choose Yes or No when it asks about overwriting the file, it never retains the previous data. The other limitation of this is that we have two different live loads to design for but you can only pull in one live load at a time. I had hoped to maintain previous results so that I could pull on the live loads at different times.
Please provide next steps on how to keep results. Also, does Bentley plan to increase the functionality of the program and save it as an LBCX file in the near future?
Hi Brian,
It is quite strange that you are unable to save the substructure data and the program is not retaining the information.
Please email me the concerned OBD file and the version number you are working on.
The feature to save the substructure data is already there and it looks like it might a file specific issue and needs to be investigated.
If you want any enhancement to be implemented in the program then please do add your request to IDEAS.
Please check the link to add your request.

Thanks,
Also i would suggest you to download and install the latest version from Bentley Select server.
Hi all,
I have an impression that not a lot of designers use this feature. Me and my colleagues all have same problem. We also manually copy paste reactions because first of all there's no way to access the LBC model outside of the LBS, and second - it erases all input project information, cap design and column design, footing (rebars, etc.) whether we choose to overwrite or not the existing information.
