I have question regarding arrangement of the bars of the shear longitudinal reinforcement.
Namely, if I define reference set for shear longitudinal reinforcement like shown in picture 1, does it mean I should place my bars like shown in picture 2? I am considering only bottom zone of the box girder, and bottom plate.
I am not sure to which part of cross section shear longitudinal reinforcement is referred to.

Hi Ivana, if you have a simple supported span, yes it should be paced at the bottom. And you should consider it at the bottom of the webs, as webs will be the elements where stirrups are placed. The shear longitudinal area value would be able to resist the additional tensile force caused by shear. Please, look at picture below:

Just to check if I understood. The presented bars placement is correct, but also it is required to add bars in the bottom of the webs? Or, only bars at the bottom of the web should exist?
The shear longitudinal reinforcement should be braced by the shear stirrups, as a good principle of design and where it occurs the additional tensile force due to shear.

For additional clarification please also check the link below where we explain that despite this attribute set is used for storing the required additional longitudinal reinforcement due to shear force, the two lines are used for setting up an upper and a lower bound for the shear investigation and do not reference the exact position of the bars.

A good idea to check details and the models completeness is to use as reference a similar problem from our training examples. Or, in this specific case a cross-section from the Cross Sections catalog. For example, in your project you can use another instance of RM Bridge or import BoxWing1 or 2 or 2SL from the BoxGirder Group or CBox from the Cantilever Group.
