Hello,
I've developed a custom abutment cell and I'm trying to place it through the "Place Custom Abutment" tool. It appears to be placing it, and it shows up in the explorer window, but nothing shows up in the drawing. It will allow me to place a simple rectangular custom cell abutment, and it shows up in the drawing, but if I add wingwalls or a second shape to the cell, nothing will show up. I can place the same cell into the drawing manually, just using "Place Active Cell" and it shows up fine (see screenshot below). I could potentially place the cell manually but that sort of defeats the purposes of the Place Custom Abutment feature and I don't think it would show up in the explorer window as a bridge component.
Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Seems to me the old cell without the wingwalls is stuck in memory. Can you please rename the model in cell (Do not use Default). Restart the application, and try to place again.
I have found this to be a solution to most problems with Functional components. I hope at some point this workflow gets improved so that the functional components can update automatically after editing similar to how families in Revit work.
That didn't seem to do it. It will place one of the cells that comes along with the software (see screenshot), but when I create my own cell, nothing shows up. Is there something with creating the 3D solid in the cell that I'm not doing correctly? It will do the same thing with placing accessories such as bridge rail posts - it will place a rectangular solid but not a more complex shape such as a w-shape, although it will place one of the cells that comes with the software.
Ryan, Please file a service ticket, so we can look into the files.
I have the same problem for placing accessories with Place Path. Everything is ok with the 3D cell, I can place it like a cell and it shows fine but if I try to use Place Path in OBM the accessory does not show up in the 3D model. Default accessories from the software works fine but if I modify them they don’t appear too.
