I am currently working on a suspension bridge model in RM Bridge. When I run the analysis, it has error messages saying that the cable nodes need global DOF 3, but restraining DOF 3 using node support would cause the cables not able to move laterally at all. It seems that there is no transverse stiffness at the cable nodes in this model. I checked other suspension bridge models and it seems that only DOF4-6 need to be restrained.
Does anyone know what the problem is here?

For the analysis to include P-delta and Large displacements it would only work with the inclusion of the cables stressing normal forces.
